GRAND RAFFLE DRAW
The 3rd Annual Grand Raffle Draw was held on Sunday 6th December at 11.30am at Odcombe Village Hall and raised the outstanding amount of £1,398.80. Over 50 supporters attended the event and Yeovil and District Branch of Cats Protection would like to say a huge thank you to all the local companies, tradesmen and women and supporters who donated such excellent prizes. Despite the grim financial climate we were overwhelmed by their generosity. We would also like to thank everyone who purchased a raffle ticket. This has been such a busy and difficult year for our Branch with so many cats being abandoned or given up for re-homing and it is really encouraging to know that we have the support of so many people in this area. Yvonne and Cheryl both have 3 state of the art chalets in their gardens.

Our Catering Corps provides refreshments during the year at the open gardens in Hinton St George as well as furnishing the cake stall at local Fairs. A dedicated group of volunteers bake delicious cakes and biscuits for these events. The photo shows just 3 members of the Catering Corps providing refreshments at the Grand Craft Fair held each year in November at Hinton St George Village Hall.
In December the pupils from year 8 at Maiden Beech School in Crewkerne decided to raise funds for the Branch by selling home made cakes during their break. This industrious group managed to raise £35 IN JUST HALF AN HOUR! The picture shows Publicity Officer Leslye being handed the cheque by the young man who was the brains behind the event.
